Crispy Hake Burgers
Ingredients
4 Hake fillets
2 Eggs
1 tsp (5 ml) Hot sauce
1 cup (250 ml) Plain flour
1 Tbsp (15 ml) Seven Colours Grill Seasoning™
1 tsp (5 ml) Black pepper
2 Tbsp (30 ml) Bread crumbs
1 cup (250 ml) Oil, for deep frying
4 Hamburger buns
1 cup (250 ml) Tartar sauce
8 Cheese slices
4 Large lettuce leaves, shredded
Method
Pat the hake fillets dry with a paper towel and set aside.
In a bowl, beat the eggs and whisk in the hot sauce.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, Seven Colours Grill Seasoning™ and
black pepper. Mix well. Place the bread crumbs in another bowl.
Heat the oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
Dip each hake fillet into the egg mixture, then coat in the flour mixture. Dip it
back into the egg mixture and, finally, coat it in the bread crumbs.
Fry the fillets for about 5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
Remove from the oil and drain on a paper towel.
To assemble the burgers, place a crispy hake fillet onto each hamburger bun.
Top with cheese slices, shredded lettuce and tartar sauce.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
